logo arrived!

andreas has made the logo with a few colourways here based on the agreed citrus-based colour system. although the 3d version is a mockup the plan is to make a large 3d wood logo (painted) with perhaps a glowing er.

interesting logo. just what exactly does ER stand for? im guessing its something because its different colour and style. wouldnt it look better if done on perspex instead of painted wood?...

yeah it certainly shouldn't pertain in anyway to Emergency Room...
Although the logo is looking great, maybe if it worked with ER not on its own line, this way it would not be singled out as a word or initials. . . unless we can make ER stand for something.. but tha'ts doing things in the wrong order.

does lowercase solve this problem?

RE. Emergency Room

valid comment... I don't think mixing Upper lowercase is the answer though. Having the logo all in one color should solve the problem.

When the 'ER' is another color it visually separates the letters from the logo (horizontally), where as when all the letters are the same colour, 'BRIGHTER' is more legible as a vertically stacked word. This way the stacked structure maintains emphasis on the 'ER' being a suffix to 'BRIGHT' rather than an abbreviation on a new line.

RE. Perspex instead of wood

All depends on the quility of paint finish - wood painted with a high quality matt paint or wood stain-such as the examples provided at Service Graphics-could look classier than perspex.
